Consulting and Critique of Professional Evaluations
Dr. McNaught is often retained to provide case consultation and critique other professionals’ forensic evaluations. When asked to critique the work of other evaluators, she addresses: current standards of practice and ethical considerations for forensic psychological evaluations; psychological testing in forensic evaluations; the reliability of the plaintiff’s statements compared to collateral records; and she also reviews underlying documents used to substantiate forensic opinions.
Throughout her career, Dr. McNaught has maintained both a clinical and forensic practice. In clinical practice, she specializes in two areas: evaluating and treating adults and children who experienced physical/sexual abuse; and treating and evaluating children and adults involved in high-conflict divorce. In addition, she has treated adults and children with depression and anxiety, as well as those experiencing situational stress. Earlier in her career, as a teacher and then school psychologist, Dr. McNaught worked with children experiencing educational and behavioral issues. She also assisted parents in helping children with special needs, such as learning disabilities, ADHD, Autism, and other handicapping conditions.
Dr. McNaught has presented on over 50 occasions at state, national, and international professional conferences on clinical and forensic topics.
