McNaught received her Ph.D.in educational psychology with an emphasis in counseling psychology from the University of Minnesota in 1982. She then interned in two different clinical mental health settings, providing psychological evaluations and treatment to adults, adolescents, and children with a variety of mental health issues.<\/p>\n<p>Earlier in her career, she worked as a school psychologist, consulting with teachers on behavioral difficulties and helping devise educational plans for students with special needs. In addition, she conducted assessments, assisted with educational plans for children with special needs, and developed a district-wide program for emotionally disturbed children.<\/p>\n<p>After receiving her doctorate, Dr. McNaught entered private practice, specializing in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/janemcnaught.com\/dev\/forensic-expert-witness\/\"><strong>forensic<\/strong><\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/janemcnaught.com\/dev\/clinical-psychologist\/\"><strong>clinical<\/strong><\/a> practice. Over the past 35 years, she completed extensive post-graduate training in forensic psychology attending numerous board-certified seminars presented by the American Academy of Forensic Psychology, a division of the American Psychological Association. Dr. McNaught is well-versed in civil, criminal, and family law issues within her areas of expertise.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. McNaught has been invited to speak on clinical and forensic topics at over 70\u00a0 local, national and international professional conferences for psychologists, social workers, physicians, attorneys, judges, guardians and school administrators. In addition, she has participated in state and county policy-making boards on issues related to sexual assault and divorce custody.<\/p>\n<p>She is a qualified expert in the areas of: Sexual Assault, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, Harassment and Discrimination in the work place, Medical Malpractice, Divorce Related Issues, and Factitious Disorder by Proxy.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/janemcnaught.com\/dev\/contact\/\">Contact\u00a0Dr. Jane K.
